Body found in Caolan Mulrooney search

Gardaí searching for missing person Caolan Mulrooney have come across a body between Douglas St and Evergreen Street.

Although no formal identification has yet been made, the search has been called off.

Mulrooney’s father had earlier praised the efforts of the hundreds of students, friends, and family, who had tirelessly carried out a voluntary search over the past few days.

The scene is now being technically examined and a post mortem will be conducted on the man’s body at Cork University Hospital later today.
